Helios Investment Partners LLP, company based in London, UK, being one of the best socially responsible investment companies was generous enough to provide financial support, USD Ten Thousand ($10,000) to CAWEE to provide technical skills training, in tailoring, to ten vulnerable young women living in Addis Ababa.
Absera Gizaw, a staff of Helios Investment Partners was in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, at CAWEE’s Office on March 8, 2019, to discuss on the project implementation and to discuss on future potential partnerships.
The beneficiaries of this project are identified by the concerned ones, being young women, vulnerable, the poorest of the poor, with educational background between 10th to 12th grades.
CAWEE has agreed with Next Fashion Design College, one of CAWEE’s members, the first private fashion school in Ethiopia, to provide the skills training, tailor-made three months training at the College.
Once the skills training is finalized (trainees successfully finishing their training), Next Garment, which is a sister company of Next Fashion Design College, has agreed to provide full time employment opportunities to all the ten trainees. Both the sister companies, i.e. Next Garment and Next Fashion Design College are very much known in Ethiopia, being socially responsible, where the College has a quota every year providing scholarships to poor young women and in its garment factory, providing its scholarship trainees full time employment opportunities. From the past experiences of Next Fashion Design College, the College provides hands-on follow-up trainings, on-the-job trainings once the trainees are employed.
