CAWEE TOOK PART AT THE EVENT WHERE SECRETARY POMPEO PARTICIPATED IN THE WOMEN’S GLOBAL DEVELOPMENT & PROSPERITY EVENT IN ADDIS ABABA
On February 19, 2020, during a Women’s Global Development & Prosperity Event, Secretary of State, Michael R. Pompeo met with dynamic Ethiopian women discussing on issues and barriers affecting women’s economic participation in Ethiopia.
The Executive Director of CAWEE, Nigest Haile had the opportunity to take part at this event and spoke on the challenges that Ethiopian women involved in different kinds of businesses face.
Nigest as well mentioned the potential partnership areas where Ethiopian women in business can take part, particularly in benefiting from the provisions of the American trade bill, i.e. the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) and the support that needs to be extended from the US Government.
