US Team Provided Support to Meron Addis Abeba
A team of 10 American women from the US: New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Florida, Maryland and South Carolina arrived in Addis Ababa on July 30, 2021 to provide support for Meron Addis Ababa, CAWEE’s member.
The team’s support areas focused on providing technical support to develop Meron Addis’s Strategic Plan, providing technical support in designs and explore opportunities for market linkages. The team visited Meron Addis Ababa’s store and factory on August 02, 2021 and continued working with the company until August 04, 2021, mainly in developing the company’s Strategic Plan

The team led by Diana L Tyson, Professor at Saint Elizabeth University in Morris County, New Jersey, United States, had a curtsy visit at CAWEE’s office on August 6, 2021. The US team was composed of designers in leather products, experts in fashion accessories, photographers and student interns.

Getting back to the US, the team has planned to finalize Meron Addis Ababa’s Strategic Plan and once the final draft is completed, the team will continue its communications and virtual meetings with Meron to work on the final version of the Strategic Plan, discuss and agree on next steps.
