As a successful former Macroeconomist at the IMF, Washington D.C., U.S Asegedech (Assi) WoldeMariam has had over 30 years experience in the financial and economic sector. She also has extensive volunteer work providing services for youth in economically depressed neighborhoods in both the U.S. and the greater diaspora community.

Asegedech was the founder and the owner of KAP consulting Plc. in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. She is also a Senior Associate at The Horn Economic and Social Policy Institute (HESPI) from 2012 – present. In the last 10 years, Asegedech has entered the world of African fashion and managed to create jewelry collections, deciding to combine her well-versed economic background and her passion for art and fashion.

Asegedech is the CEO, founder and owner of Assi’s Gallery. She is responsible for the company’s overall vision and strategy as well as day-to-day operations. In CAWEE’s Board, Asegedech represents CAWEE members involved in gemstones and jewellery and furniture manufacturing sector
